Visceral Manipulation

Looking for a technique that’s a bit more specific? We offer a variety of manual therapies suited to orthopedic, digestive, and women’s health complaints.

Manual therapies are skilled hand movements designed to improve any of the following: joint range of motion, improve soft tissue restrictions, reduce pain, change inflammation, change muscular and organ function.

  • Visceral Manipulation

A gentle manual therapy that works with your body's internal anatomy and the nervous system to improve function, decrease pain, and restore mobility to your body. Using soft hand placements the supporting connective tissues are assessed and treated along lines of tension or tissue restrictions to re-establish the body’s ability to adapt and restore itself to health.

  • Myofascial Release

Trauma or inflammation can create a binding down of soft tissues resulting in excessive pressure on nerves, muscles, blood vessels, bones, and/or organs. Trauma, such a fall, whiplash, surgery or just habitual poor posture over time has a cumulative effect, producing pain, inflammation, headaches and/or restriction of motion. MFR works with your connective tissues to decrease pain and restore range of motion and proper function.

  • Dynamic Fascial Cupping

Soft silicone cups are used to increase circulation, create better mobility within tissue layers and help decrease pain. Cups are used by creating a vacuum and then gliding them along the tissues of the body.

Benefits

Improved digestion, GI function, reduced pelvic pain/PMS symptoms, alleviates pain, improves joint function and mobility, reduction in neurological symptoms,

What to expect during a session

Depending on your comfort level and symptoms treatments may be clothed (stretchy tank top and shorts are best) or while draped with linens. Visceral manipulation techniques require access to the abdomen. Myofascial release and cupping techniques are performed directly on skin.
