Massage Therapy

Massage therapy is a type of treatment in which a trained and certified medical professional manipulates the soft tissues of your body — muscle, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and skin — using varying degrees of pressure and movement. Massage is generally considered part of complementary and integrative medicine.

  • Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage treats musculoskeletal issues. It involves applying firm pressure and slow strokes to reach the deep layers of muscle, tendons, fascia and ligaments. It's used for chronic aches and pains and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, sore shoulders, and post-injuries to assist with recovery.

  • Pre/Post Natal Massage

A pregnancy massage meets the needs of moms-to-be and new moms. During pregnancy, a woman's body undergoes a variety of changes. Massage therapy can assist in maintaining a comfortable and pain-free pregnancy from conception to delivery, addressing musculoskeletal pain, tightness, swelling and headaches, and promoting relaxation.

  • Sports Massage

Sports Massage supports active individuals through pre- and post-competition seasons and injury prevention and rehabilitation. Multiple techniques are incorporated to support the musculoskeletal system, benefiting even the weekend warrior!

  • Oncology Massage

Oncology massage is the modification of massage therapy techniques that safely work with the complications of cancer and cancer treatments. This treatment is safe for anyone in active treatment or recovery. A thorough assessment is conducted, with each treatment adapted to the individual's needs.

  • Pediatric Massage

Pediatric massage is for kids aged 2 to 16, where pressure is adapted to each child's needs. These sessions are 30 minutes long and can be performed with clothes on. Children's massages can help reduce stress and growing pains, improving sleep and muscle imbalances. To keep younger kids engaged, the therapist will use a story to perform the massage; "making pizza" on their back, "rolling out the dough," "spreading pizza sauce," or "adding pepperoni."

  • Craniosacral Therapy

Craniosacral therapy (CST) is a hands-on technique using light touches to examine the membranes and fluid surrounding the nervous system. CST improves headaches, digestion, sleep, anxiety and musculoskeletal function.

Benefits

Massages can reduce muscle spasms and pain, improve mobility and tissue pliability, improve sleep and circulation, accelerate healing and strengthen immunity, lower blood pressure, and decrease anxiety and depression.
